✦ NOURISHING PANTRY STAPLE RECIPE ✦
Easy Homemade Granola

SARA’S NOTES
Once you make granola at home, you will genuinely never go back to store-bought. You know exactly what’s in it, it costs a fraction of the price, and your kitchen smells absolutely incredible while it bakes. The secret to getting those beautiful clusters? Press the granola down firmly before baking and resist the urge to stir it while it cools. That’s it. Patience is the secret ingredient here. Make a big batch on Sunday and enjoy it all week with yogurt, your favourite milk, or straight from the jar as a nourishing snack. 🌿

INGREDIENTS
🌾 THE BASE

4 cups Rolled oats
1 cup Nut mix (unsalted raw almonds, walnuts, cashews, pecans)
½ cup Pumpkin seeds
1 tbsp Chia seeds
¼ cup Hemp hearts
¼ cup Unsweetened coconut flakes
🍯 THE LIQUID COAT
½ cup Coconut oil, melted
½ cup Maple syrup (vegan option) or honey
½ tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Salt
METHOD
1. Preheat your oven to 275°F and line a large baking tray with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, combine oats, nuts, seeds, coconut flakes, and cinnamon. Stir until evenly mixed.
3. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted coconut oil, maple syrup or honey, and salt until combined.
4. Pour the liquid mixture over the oat mixture and stir until everything is evenly and generously coated.
5. Spread onto your prepared baking tray. Using a spatula, press the granola down firmly into an even layer. This is what creates those beautiful clusters!
6. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and press the granola down firmly again with your spatula.
7. Return to the oven and bake for another 25–30 minutes, until the granola is deep golden brown and smells toasty. Keep an eye on it toward the end.
8. Remove from the oven and leave completely undisturbed to cool for 30 minutes. Do not stir or break it up during this time. This is what sets the clusters!
9. Once fully cooled, break into clusters and transfer to an airtight container. Stores well at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. ✨
10. Enjoy with your favourite yogurt, milk, or straight from the jar as a nourishing snack!

Rolled oats are a fibre powerhouse, supporting healthy digestion, blood sugar regulation, and lasting satiety. The nut and seed mix brings a beautiful combination of plant-based protein, healthy fats, and minerals including magnesium, zinc, and iron. Hemp hearts are one of the few plant sources of complete protein, meaning they contain all nine essential amino acids. Chia seeds add omega-3 fatty acids and soluble fibre that support heart health and gut function. Coconut oil provides medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) for quick, clean energy, and using maple syrup or honey as your sweetener means a lower glycemic option that your body processes more gently than refined sugar. Store-bought granola often contains seed oils, refined sugars, and preservatives. This one has none of that. Just real, whole ingredients doing exactly what your body needs.
